  • WE FOUND CODES: P0404- EGR POSITION SENSOR PERFORMANCE P0420- CATALYST EFFICIENCY (BANK 1) P0456- EVAP SYSTEM SMALL LEAK DETECTED P0430- CATALYST EFFICIENCY (BANK 2) -WE WERE UNABLE TO VERIFY THE CUST COMPLAINT. BUT DURING OUR TEST DRIVE WE LOST ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE. WE FOUND THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL IS VERY LOOSE AND WILL NOT TIGHTEN UP. WE CLEANED BOTH BATTERY TERMINALS. WE INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY TERMINAL. NOW IT IS WORKING AS PER SPECS. -DURING THE ROAD TEST WE MONITORED THE HO2 SENSORS. THEY APPEAR TO BE WORKING PROPERLY MOST OF THE TIMES. INTERMITTENTLY THE DOWNSTREAM HO2 SENSORS START FLAGGING AND SHOWING THE CATS ARE WORN. THE CUST MAY NEED CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. WE RECOMMEND FOR US TO REPAIR THE EVAP & EGR CODES FIRST AND THEN ERASE THE CODES AND SEE IF THE CODES COME BACK ON. -WE SMOKE TESTED THE EVAP SYSTEM AND FOUND A CRACKED NIPPLE ON THE FUEL TANK. WE RECOMMEND TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK. WE REPAIRED THE CRACK AS PER A DISCUSSION WITH THE CUST. WE ERASED THE CODE AND THE EVAP SYSTEM IS WORKING AT THIS TIME. -WE TESTED THE EGR VALVE. THE EGR VALVE IS OUT OF SPECS AND CAUSING THE CODE. WE REPLACED THE EGR VALVE. WE ERASED ALL THE CODES AND ROAD TESTED THE VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES. IT IS WORKING AS PER SPECS AT THIS TIME.
